Matariki Tu Rakau is a New Zealand Forest Service initiative encouraging communities to take up plant trees to honour local heroes. Senior Advisor for the Matariki Tu Rakau programme, Belinda Miller says applications are now open to community groups and marae wanting to clear land for planting trees, to purchase trees and mulch etc.
