Smoking rates among 13 and 14-year-olds have fallen to a record low while vaping has risen, according to the 2021 ASH Year 10 Survey. Maori students in particular had reduced smoking rates by 40%.  But vape use has increased.  Deborah Hart of ASH NZ Deborah Hart says it is encouraging to see the massive drop in Maori smokers.
