Get prepared. That is the advice of former President of the Maori Womans Welfare League Dame Areta Koopu. Antivaxxers have been using the image of Dame Whina Cooper proclaiming she marched for our freedom to choose.  Dame Areta who worked closely with Dame Whina says she would support vaccination to protect our children and our whanau.  In the 90’s the League ran an immunisation project that saw 85% of Maori babies immunised – many of them she says, will be the adults currently opposing vaccination.
