Mere Takoko is completing her PHD ‘Hinemoana ki Tai’, which is part of the Moana Project aimed at understanding our oceans better and explores things like the future sustainability of the seafood industry. Mere says climate change is real and Ngati Porou need to be a lot more strategic, think 50 years ahead, ensure our kainga are sustainable and that we can feed ourselves.
