It is never too late to learn te reo Māori. Award winning rugby commentator and now ‘paepae’ man Albie Gibson saw how tired his Uncles who were manning the Te Poho o Rawiri marae paepae were and approached Morehu Nikora for help to fix the situation. They set up reo, tikanga and moteatea classes with a small group of 12 and now they have around 40 men who attend consistently. And Albie has graduated to the paepae of Te Poho o Rawiri marae. He talked to Erana about his reo journey.
