A hui to develop a long-term management plan for Myrtle Rust will be held at Hinerupe Marae on Friday 2 November, starting at 9.00am until 1.30 p.m.
The hui will involve:
- Plant and Food Research, a Crown research company that has been funded to conduct research on managing Myrtle Rust; and
- Te Tira Whakamaataki, the Maori Bio-security Network, that wants to work with local kaitiaki and hapu to develop tools to monitor and manage Myrtle Rust.
The main aim of the hui is to connect these two groups to the Matakaoa community, and to develop a shared action plan for research, monitoring and educational resources to manage the impact of Myrtle Rust on our ngahere.
Nau mai, haere mai ki taua hui.
