Just before Christmas last year, the Waitangi Tribunal released a report upholding the urgent claim lodged by the NZ Māori Council that alleged the government’s Covid 19 response breached the Treaty of Waitangi. NZ Māori Council spokesperson, Takuta Ferris, spoke with us about the recommendations made by the Tribunal and the need for the vaccine roll out for 5–12-year olds to speed up or the start of school to be pushed back.
