Ngati Porou’s newest District Court Judge Ophir Cassidy practised Youth and Family Law for 19years before being admitted to the judiciary in April this year.  She sees the new Maori Health Authority as way to wrap services and support around young people and their whanau and ensure they don’t end up on the wrong side of the law.
