‘Pacific Island whanau want to be together, but they can’t’. Auckland City Councillor for the Manukau Ward, Alf Filipaina lives in Mangere where two Pacific Island churches with huge congregations are confirmed locations of interest.  Alf, brother of former league player Olsen, says it’s part of their tikanga to be together and to meet and have kai after church.  He spoke to Erana Reedy about the challenges the Pacific community face, getting on top of this pandemic.
